- —Gaz, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Gaz is a young Mushroom person in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and its remake. He is the son of the Rose Town innkeeper and lives in Rose Town with his mother. When Mario arrives in Rose Town, he plays with Gaz for a short while before being knocked unconscious. While Mario sleeps, Gaz's doll Geno comes to life and heads out into the Forest Maze.
Once Geno joins the party and defeats Bowyer to earn the second Star Piece, Mario can then return to Rose Town to visit Gaz, and he gives Geno his first weapon, the Finger Shot. His mother, the innkeeper, lets Mario rest for free for an unlimited number of times since he played with Gaz.
Gaz sometimes appears in a dream if the party rests at the inn of Nimbus Land and uses the "Dream Cushion."
