After one of the four heroes hits a Star Block, the subchapter ends, and the player is prompted to save. If the subchapter has not been completed before, there is a brief narration segment before the next subchapter begins. For subchapters that end in "-4", the player will instead return to [[Flipside]].

Tippi, Super Paper Mario

Star Blocks are objects in Super Paper Mario. They are blocks that serve as the goal of most sub-chapters, and activating them clears the sub-chapter then prompts the player to save. Star Blocks have a rainbow aesthetic and a spinning star within. The sub-chapter at the end of each chapter initially does not have a Star Block and is cleared by getting a Pure Heart (or, in the case of Chapter 8-4, by clearing the game). If the heroes revisit such a sub-chapter, the Star Block at the end takes them over to Flipside.
