The Outer Limits (referred to by Squirps as both the "Space Byway" and "Space Bypass") is an area in Super Paper Mario. It serves as the setting of Chapter 4-3.

Chapter 4-3: The Gates of Space[edit]

Storyline text

Mario and friends headed to the Space Bypass in search of the Pure Heart.

How did Squirps know about this secret route? Our heroes stared suspiciously at him.

"Why are you staring like that?" said Squirps. "Are you falling for Squirps?!"

In the darkness of space, the eyes of Squirps glinted mischievously...

Twinkle Mart
Twinkle Mart.
Space gate needing to be open to pass.

The first section of the level is simply an obstacle course of Brick Blocks, Jelliens and Hedrons. At the end of the section is a red X that appears to be made of tape. Using Fleep on the X reveals two large green pillars. The left pillar has a indentation in the shape of Squirps. Placing him in the indent causes a huge gate to appear between the pillars, allowing the player to progress further.

After entering the gate, the heroes immediately come across another X that creates two more pillars. However, both pillars have Squirps shapes and placing him inside one with yield no result. Squirps refuses to come out until he has something to eat and none of the items the heroes have will do. A nearby sign has a hint as to what Squirps craves.

O chosen one, what will fulfill this strange alien's desire?
Something sweet that starts with "cho" and ends with "late". This will open the way.

To the right is a Save Block and a Squarp hole. The Squarp hole leads a hub area with several other holes. Some Eeligons and Hedrons can be found here. The hole in the bottom left leads to several coins. The bottom right and top left holes lead to either sides of an area full of Hedrons and Fotons. There is also a Save Block here. The hole in the top right leads to a Twinkle Mart run by Howzit. He sells three types of chocolate bars. Any of them may be purchased and given to Squirps. Regardless of the flavor, Squirps loves the treat and gets so excited that he temporarily splits in two and is able to open the gate. Through the gate are several Warpids, followed by the Star Block.
