Blaze the Cat is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, introduced to the series in Sonic Rush. She is featured in the Super Mario franchise only as a recurring playable character of the All-Around type in the Mario & Sonic series.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games[edit]

Blaze is the fastest All-Around character alongside Luigi in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. Her power rating is shared with Mario. The opening shows Blaze participating in 110m Hurdles. She is voiced by Erica Schroeder (credited as Bella Hudson), her original voice actress from Sonic Rush.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games[edit]

Blaze reprises her role in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. The opening shows her participate in Moguls and Ice Hockey. Her corresponding minigame in Adventure Tours is Move the Blocks!, where she melts ice blocks and moves character blocks to their corresponding panels.

Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games[edit]

Blaze returns with the same role in the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Her voice actress is now Laura Bailey, from Sonic Free Riders. The opening shows her at the start with other athletes, as well as competing in Synchronized Swimming and Dream Uneven Bars. There is an updated athletic wear of the Mii outfit of her. Blaze is also a non-playable character in London Party mode.

Blaze is part of the Girls group in the Nintendo 3DS version and is playable only in certain events. There is also an obtainable badge of her from the badge machine. Blaze is first seen in Story Mode with Peach, defeating some imposters to protect some Toads before saving Daisy and Amy. Blaze later destroys the fog machine at Hyde Park, which Rouge leads them too after being freed from being brainwashed, and decides to stay in Hyde Park with the other characters. Blaze later calls to support Mario, Luigi, Sonic, and Tails when they face Bowser and Dr. Eggman. Blaze is at the opening ceremony. In the bonus episodes, Blaze helps Peach, the Toads and Amy deliver invitations. Blaze challenges but loses to Amy at an Olympic Event when she asks Blaze to give Sonic's invitation personally. Some time later, after concluding that Bowser and Dr. Eggman got invitations, Blaze decides to return to the hotel but decides to go shopping with Peach, Daisy, Amy and the Toads instead.

Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games[edit]

Blaze appears as a playable character in Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. She participates in Duel Beach Volleyball during the opening.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020[edit]

Blaze reappears in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 as a playable character. She is seen participating in 100m during the opening. She is among the characters whose outfit depends on the event. Her voice actress was changed again to Erica Lindbeck.

The arcade version added Blaze as a playable character on July 22, 2020. Here, she has good speed, above average technique, and average power.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate [edit]

Blaze appears as a spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. She grants the "Mouthful of Curry" effect, which allows the equipped fighter to breathe fire repeatedly.
