Boards are wooden cutouts of various entities that appear in Super Mario 3D Land. They can take the shape of Goombas, 1-Up Mushrooms, and Warp Pipes (referred to as Goomba Boards[1], 1-Up Mushroom Boards[2], and Pipe Boards[3], respectively) and occasionally give the player items when broken. They block Mario's path but can easily be jumped on or broken using either Tanooki Mario's tail, a roll, or a Ground Pound.
