Expansion Blocks[1] are blocks resembling pink-spotted Egg Blocks in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (and its reissue), Yoshi's Island DS, and Yoshi's New Island. However, they do not release eggs. Instead, when struck from below, an Expansion Block expands to help a Yoshi go higher. However, after a set amount of time, the Expansion Block shrinks back to its normal size.
