Template:Quote2 Goomhilde (originally known as just Goomba) is a female member of the Goomba species that appears in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. After the Smithy Gang invades Bowser's Keep, Goomhilde is first seen leading Bowser's troop of Goombas in Rose Way. In Moleville, she expresses worry that most of their allies have run off. By the time Mario meets Bowser at Booster Tower, Bowser's remaining Minions are nowhere to be seen, including her.

If the player visits the Weapon and Armor Shop of Monstro Town, it is shown that Goomhilde is managing the store. While shocked to see Mario, Bowser makes his presence known and asks why she is there. Goomhilde reveals to him that she ran away because she was too scared to fight Smithy. After getting her three "little ones" to greet "Uncle Bowser", she becomes eager to sell equipment in the hopes that Bowser will forgive her. Bowser, realizing that she has settled down, reassures her that he is not angry with her and that he will reclaim his castle with his "new minions".

Goomhilde sells equipment for Bowser as well as general refreshments, and her triplets also try to help.

Trivia

  • In Rose Way, instead of Bowser announcing her ranks as the somewhat disparaging "groundling Goombas", he highlights her seductive charms in the Japanese version. The English version makes it unclear why she responds to this description by making the screen flash a hot pink, as she was originally supposed to be demonstrating her feminine wiles.
