Leaf Leap is a 4-Player minigame found in Mario Party 5, Mario Party: The Top 100, and Mario Party Superstars. It is also part of the Showdown minigame Mario's Three-peat in Super Mario Party Jamboree.

Introduction[edit]

A bean is dropped into the dirt, spawning the beanstalk with the first leaf. In Super Mario Party Jamboree, the four players are standing next to a Warp Pipe, when Mario jumps out and invites everyone to join the game, before the game starts like normal.

Gameplay[edit]

Players must jump from leaf to leaf to try to climb the highest on the beanstalk. If players jump to a leaf that is not there, they will fall until they land back on a leaf below. The player who climbs the highest wins. An orange leaf indicates where the record is set.

A silhouette of Mario's head makes a cameo as a crater on the moon, visible if the player reaches 165 yards/metres. However, in the PAL version of Mario Party 5, the 50hz slowdown makes this height impossible to reach.

In both Mario Party 5 and The Top 100, this minigame appears as the fourth minigame in Mini-Game Decathlon. Here, the player's objective is to climb as high as possible within the time limit to earn as many points as possible, up to 1,000. The default record for this minigame in Mini-Game Decathlon is 120 yards/metres in Mario Party 5 and 50 yards/metres in The Top 100.

The highest possible score in the NTSC version of Mario Party 5 and all versions of Mario Party: The Top 100, Mario Party Superstars, and Super Mario Party Jamboree is 180 yards/metres, while the highest possible score in the PAL version of Mario Party 5 is 150 metres.

In Mario Party Superstars, it is impossible for one side to have more than three leaves in a row.

Ending[edit]

In Super Mario Party Jamboree, the players do their respective winning and losing animations on the grass field of the minigame's background, while Mario cheers for the winner.[1]
