Jr.'s Jauntlet is a Showdown minigame in Super Mario Party Jamboree. It is centered around Bowser Jr., and it has four players complete a series of waves, most of which involve avoiding enemies, to earn points. "Jauntlet" is a pun on "gauntlet." Like other Showdown minigames, this minigame cannot be played in the Mario Party mode if Bowser Jr. is an active player character, though he can still be used in this minigame in Minigame Bay modes.
Introduction[edit]
The players look around aimlessly as Bowser Jr. flies in his Junior Clown Car onto the screen. He laughs and pushes a couple buttons on a remote he is holding, causing the floor of the minigame arena to turn on and surprise the players. Bowser Jr. then flies towards the players and summons various enemies (specifically, a Thwomp, a Chargin' Chuck, a Hammer Bro, an Amp, a Chain Chomp in a cage carried by two Toadies, several Fuzzies, and two Bullet Bills flying in a straight line).
Gameplay[edit]
In this minigame, four players must participate in ten bite-sized waves of events, most of them lasting for five seconds. Most waves involve players avoiding getting hit by enemies. Players earn a point for clearing each wave, and said waves may include:
- Biddybuds strolling in a rectangular pattern.
- A pair of Fire Bros throwing fireballs at the players.
- A Chain Chomp bouncing around the arena, like in the Chain Chomp event in Mario Party 9's Bowser's Block Battle.
- Two Spike Balls rolling around the arena, like in Mario Party 6's Pit Boss.
- Several Bullet Bills flying in diagonal directions, like in Mario Party 9's Billistics.
- Four Amps descending in the center, then moving to different corners to create a shockwave in the middle, like in Mario Party 5's Shock Absorbers and Mario Party: Island Tour's Amp My Style.
- Four chickens, which must be caught by the players, appearing in the arena. This is similar to Mario Party: Island Tour's Truckin' and Cluckin'.
- Six Grrrols appearing from the sides.
- Several Chargin' Chucks rushing on all sides, like in Super Mario Party's Gridiron Gauntlet.
- Two spiked rollers appearing in opposite corners on the left and right each, for four total.
- Six Broozers charging, three on each side.
- Four sets of Fuzzies appearing from all sides, then curving around to leave again.
- A pair of Hammer Bros raining hammers down on the arena, like in Mario Party 7's Hammer Spammer.
- Numerous Bob-ombs falling on the arena, ready to explode, which may be kicked or punched away like in Mario Party 9's Bomb Barge.
- Several Thwomps falling onto the arena.
- Several Peepas moving in a circle, like in Mario Party: Island Tour's Horror Harriers.
- Four Toadies catching the players. The players need to repeatedly press to escape the Toadies. This is similar to Mario Party 10's Peepa Panic.
- Several fruits falling on the arena, with players required to collect a specific one (grapes, bananas, etc.). This event is unique from the others in that one point is awarded for each fruit collected, though only four of the requested kind appear in the event.
- A Shy Guy with five balloons appearing randomly in the arena. Like in the event with fruits, one point is awarded for each balloon popped. This is similar to Super Mario Party's Hammer and Sic 'Em.
The tenth and final wave is unique, as it involves Bowser Jr. himself. In this wave, he uses his Koopa Clown Car's mechanical boxing gloves to knock out the players, who have 20 seconds to avoid him. Players who survive the wave are awarded three points. Bowser Jr.'s behavior in this wave is similar to his behavior in Bowser Jr.'s Pound for Pound from Mario Party: Star Rush.
In Mario Party mode, the player who encountered Bowser Jr. on the board first to trigger the minigame is awarded three points at the beginning as an advantage.
The player with the most points at the end wins the minigame and receives Bowser Jr. as a Jamboree Buddy.

Trivia[edit]
- This minigame is one of the two Showdown minigames where the respective Jamboree Buddy does not do their "character selected" pose when the minigame's title shows up: In Bowser Jr.'s case, he simply does a quick celebration. The other one is Luigi Rescue Operation, where Luigi shivers in fear.
