Thwomp the Difference is a 4-Player minigame in Super Mario Party Jamboree. Its name is a combination of "Thwomp" and "spot the difference."

Introduction[edit]

The four players are seen waving in a castle-themed backdrop with Toads using cameras aside. The camera then zooms into the three Thwomps behind the players.

Gameplay[edit]

In each of the five rounds, the players must watch the Thwomps carefully as they rise to reveal a picture of a fruit behind them. The Thwomps can rise either fully or halfway through before falling to the ground. If a player believes they have found the image that is different from the rest, they can pick it by using the button indicated below it. Once all players have chosen, or once the time limit runs out, all the Thwomps rise to reveal the images. Players that chose the correct image receive points depending on who chose it first: five points for the first player, three points for the second, two points for the third, and one point for the fourth. Otherwise, players receive no points. Round 3 onwards has four Thwomps instead of three, and for some rounds, the images can display the same type of fruit, but one has an altered appearance, making it more difficult to spot the odd one out. After the five rounds, the player with the most points wins.
