Money Belts is a 1-vs-3 coin-collecting minigame in Mario Party 4 and Mario Party Superstars. The word "money belt" originally refers to a belt with a pouch for money or other small items. In Mario Party 4, this is the only coin-collecting minigame not to feature the music "Full of Vigor"; instead, its music is "Try Hard, Folks."

Introduction[edit]

The camera shows two conveyor belts with boxes containing the solo player on top and the three other players on the bottom. The boxes wiggle, and the camera changes angle as the players jump out of the boxes. The game then begins.

Gameplay[edit]

The lone player starts on a small conveyor belt, while the team starts on a larger conveyor belt beneath it. The conveyor belts start moving, and coins, cookies, and candy start coming out. Players must collect the coins and coin bags. The cookies and candy block the players' path, possibly causing them to fall off the conveyor belt. If that happens, players must wait until their characters return via boxes. At the end of 30 seconds, players keep whatever coins they collected.

In Mario Party Superstars, characters cheer each time they collect a coin.

Ending[edit]

All objects on the conveyor belts disappear as the players line up on their respective territories as the camera changes angle to the front. The players do their winning poses. If either side collects no coins at all, its member(s) perform(s) their losing pose(s).
