An Amanita is a mobile fungus enemy found in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. They live in the Forest Maze and disguise themselves as common curative Mushrooms (which are plentiful in the forest). When an unsuspecting mushroom gatherer approaches a concealed Amanita, the fungus creature will reveal itself and attack. However, not all Amanitas disguise themselves; some move freely on the ground while searching for intruders. One Amanita even hides in an underground bush and ambushes travelers that walk by.
In battle, an Amanita attacks by hitting a party member with its cap, or using the special attack Sporocyst to turn them into Mushrooms. If hit with a physical attack, it responds with a physical attack of its own.

In battle, an Amanita attacks by twirling into one of Mario's party members. Aside from its regular attack, Amanitas can use the special attack known as Sporocyst to turn others into fungi. As a Mushroom, a party member cannot attack, use items, defend, or even move. The only positive side effect of being turned into a Mushroom is that a party member's HP will slowly recover.
An Amanita appears in Monstro Town acting as a lamp for the inn, and has a connection with the Three Musty Fears, telling Mario they will be back.

Since Amanitas are fungus-based, they may be distant relatives of Toads and Goombas.

Amanitas are enemies found in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and its remake. They are found in the Forest Maze and many disguise themselves as common Mushrooms until they reveal themselves and attack. One Amanita instead hides in an underground bush and ambushes Mario when he passes by. "Amanita" resembles and is named for a real genus of fungi, which was also the inspiration for the Super Mushroom, and has a small pair of eyes that are usually covered by its cap.

In battle, an Amanita attacks by hitting a party member with its cap, or using the special attack Sporocyst to turn them into Mushrooms. If hit with a physical attack, it responds with a physical attack of its own.

An Amanita appears in Monstro Town acting as a lamp for the inn, and has a connection with the Three Musty Fears, telling Mario they will be back.
