Variant of | Rat Funk |
Alley Rats are a stronger variation of Rat Funks that appears in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. They appear in the Sunken Ship off the coast of Seaside Town. They may appear in large numbers or alongside several other enemies. Their name is a pun on "alley cat".
In battle, Alley Rats usually attack with their tail, which can poison. Alley Rats may also flee from battle. They have no strengths or weaknesses. Some Alley Rats in the overworld man cannons that shoot Bullet Bills to knock Mario and his party members to lower sections of the level. If a Bullet Bill is hit from underneath, the cannon it was fired from will stop shooting Bullet Bills, allowing Mario and his partners to proceed. However, defeating the Alley Rat does not stop the cannon.
