Amy Rose (or simply Amy) is a pink female anthropomorphic hedgehog from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise who has a huge crush on Sonic the Hedgehog. She also participates in the Olympic events in the Mario & Sonic Olympic Games installments as a playable character. She was voiced by Lisa Ortiz in the first two installments, and is currently voiced by Cindy Robinson.
History
Mario & Sonic series
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
In Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, Amy Rose appears as an All-Around character, featuring good skill and stamina stats, average speed, and below average power.
Amy Rose utilizes some sort of heart power similar to Peach for her special moves. In the Wii version for Amy Rose's Dream Table Tennis special move, she laughs and hits the ball over the table covered with hearts with a "Go!". It hovers in above the table for a second, then plummets down. This move is quite easy to return, but if it isn't it will probably knock the opponent over. In Amy Rose's fencing special move, she lunges forward, propelled by her heart power in one powerful jab.
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games
In Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, Amy Rose appears again as an All-Around character. Her special move has her spinning around with a bunch of hearts saying "OK". In the Adventure Mode of the DS version, Amy Rose is found in Sparkleton where she will join the player's team if the player beats her in Ski Shooting (Dream Biathlon). In Frostown, there is a mechanism that requires Amy Rose to hit it with her Piko-Piko Hammer.
Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games
Amy makes her next appearance in Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, returning as an All-Around Type. Like the other female athletes, she has a new outfit worn at Gymnastic and Aquatic events while keeping her winter outfit for Equestrian.
This is the first Mario & Sonic game to feature Amy being voiced by Cindy Robinson rather than Lisa Ortiz.
In the Story Mode of the 3DS version of the game, Amy, Princess Peach, Blaze the Cat and a few Toads are preparing the invitations for the games. Amy wants to give Sonic his invitation personally, but the others cannot let her go. Amy then faces off against Blaze in an event. After the event, Blaze scatters the invitations everywhere, with Amy deciding to stay and pick them all up.
The group are short on a few, so they decide to make new ones. Somewhat later, Princess Daisy arrives to see how the others are doing. Daisy is about to go shopping and Amy wants to come, but they both have to stay and work because Peach and Blaze win. The girls decide to take a walk for a few minutes until they get back to work when they suddenly see that the invitations were scattered by the wind.
The girls and Toads manage to retrieve some of the invitations, but the rest are gone with the exception of Bowser's and Dr. Eggman's. Amy and Peach find Bowser and Eggman while Daisy and Blaze work on the stamps. Once they are found, they ask for their invitations, but Amy and Peach defeat them in Beach Volleyball and put the invitations on the ground. Blaze, Daisy, and the Toads approach them and tell them about Bowser and Eggman's invitations, but Amy and Peach already gave them to them. The girls then decide to go shopping until the games begin.
On the morning of the games, Amy finds Daisy at Hyde Park and tells her about Bowser and Eggman's fog. Just then, the two see foggy versions of Peach and Blaze and compete against them in an event. Once the event is over, the foggy versions of Peach and Blaze disappear. Amy and Daisy are in shock, thinking it was just a dream. Just then, the foggy versions of Peach and Blaze reappear right in front of them. Amy and Daisy try to back away and decide to run, but are attacked by the clones before being saved by Peach, Blaze, and the Toads.
