History

Mario & Sonic series

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games

Cream the Rabbit
Cream as one of the referees in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games

Cream's first appearance alongside Mario and the other Mario franchise characters is in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. She serves as one of the referees in some of the game's events along with Toad, Espio the Chameleon, and Charmy Bee. She, along with Toad, mainly handles calling out fouls and starting races in the Athletics events, and also watches the players play the Table Tennis and Fencing events.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games

In the next installment, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, Cream reprises her role as a referee in the events. Cream also appears as one of the scorekeepers of the Festival Mode along with Toad. In this mode, she and Toad serve as the main hosts and announce the day's events; they can be seen cheering for the player throughout.

In the Nintendo DS version of the game, Cream appears in the story mode beside a locked chest. After some recommendation of talking to her by Toad, Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog can speak to her and obtain a new type of gear from opening the chest she was struggling with. Due to her polite nature, she is content with giving the obtained item to Mario and Sonic for their adventure. In the ending, an unlockable photo of her alongside Toad and many of the other hosts can be obtained.

Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games

In Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, Cream once again serves as one of the more common referees alongside Toad, Espio the Chameleon, and Charmy Bee. She, along with Toad, hosts the London Party mode, and she also can be seen making cameos in various events. A suit based on her can be unlocked and be worn by the player's Mii. Her Chao friend Cheese makes his introduction in the series within this game and accompanies her throughout this installment.

In the Nintendo 3DS version, she maintains her role as a host and referee. In addition, she makes an appearance within the story mode along with Cheese. She is first seen when the main stadium becomes covered with Phantasmal Fog once again (after the heroes had cleared up London from the fog the first time) and is seen to be looking for her friends with Cheese. Unfortunately, the two come upon four fog clones (based on Mario, Luigi, Sonic, and Tails) that immediately attack the young girl as nearby Shy Guys flee from the scene in cowardice. Fortunately, the real Mario and Sonic arrive (along with Luigi, Tails, Toad, and Omochao in tow) and save Cream and Cheese from the attack by challenging the fog clones.

At first, Cream becomes confused to see two versions of her friends. Tails explains the situation to her and comforts her, then tells Cream (along with Cheese) to stay by Toad in order to be safe (with Toad agreeing to protect her by cheering on for the others). After the fog clones are defeated, Cream thanks the others for their help and calls them her "heroes". Not too long after, Omega arrives at the scene and informs the group of a new area to investigate, Stonehenge, for more clues about the reappearance of the fog. As Mario, Luigi, Sonic, Tails, Toad, and Omega head off to investigate Stonehenge, Cream wishes the team good luck on their quest after having decided to remain at the main stadium along with Cheese and Omochao.

Cream is later seen celebrating with the rest of the characters in the opening ceremony which occurs after the heroes manage to defeat Dr. Eggman and Bowser and save London from the Phantasmal Fog.

Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games

Cream returns in the Nintendo 3DS version of Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, this time as a playable character exclusive to the Beach Volleyball and Beach Volleyball Plus events.

Cream is not playable in the Wii U version; in this installment, she is operating the Sonic Item Stand on Copacabana Beach.

Flag of the United States of America since July 4, 1960. For North American (and sometimes South American) release dates. Sidekick to Amy Rose, Cream the Rabbit is a cute, hardworking friend. She has a Chao named Cheese, and they make a great team. She probably wants to cream the next person who makes a joke about their names, but I can't help but want a cream-cheese bagel when I talk about them...

Flag of the European Union (previously the European Economic Community). For European release dates. You don't often see Cream without Cheese. (Excuse us, we're suddenly really hungry.) Actually, Cream is a lovely, hardworking little rabbit, and Cheese is her beloved pet Chao. They're the perfect, adorable little team, and not in the slightest bit edible.
