Fire Saber, initially translated as Mega Drain, is a magic special attack in the game Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. The Fire Saber attack only targets one party member. This attack is unblockable and has a magic power of 40. Equipping Booster's Charm or B'tub Ring will cut the damage in half, while equipping Safety Ring, Lazy Shell and Super Suit will negate Fire Saber completely. Fire Saber is a fire-based special move, and its animation shows a pink beam being aimed at the target with a distinct screeching noise. As such, the users of Fire Saber are enemies with the power to manipulate fire, such as Johnny, Lava Blubble and Fire Crystal.

Trivia

  • It was originally translated as Mega Drain in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. It was retranslated to better reflect its Japanese name in its Nintendo Switch remake.
  • The Japanese name and to a lesser extent its localized name in the Nintendo Switch remake is a reference to the lightsaber weapons from the Star Wars franchise.
