Template:Species-infobox A Wild Ptooie Piranha[1][2], also known as Wild Ptooie Piranha Plant[3] or Ptooie Piranha Plant[4], is a Piranha Plant that shoots Needlenoses at Yoshi. It has a green color, as opposed to the regular red of any Piranha Plant. It also takes three hits to defeat. After the first hit, it turns yellow, then red before finally being defeated with the next strike. Chomp Rocks and Eggs thrown by Baby Donkey Kong can defeat it instantly. Wild Ptooie Piranhas are only known to appear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Yoshi Touch & Go (where they spat Spiny Eggs, which could be destroyed with an egg or stylus tap, rather than Needlenoses), Yoshi's Island DS, and Yoshi's Woolly World.
Wild Ptooie Piranhas reappear in Yoshi's Woolly World and Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World, acting fairly similarly to previous games. Unlike them, however, when they are hit with a yarn ball, they do not change to a different color.[5] Their projectiles (Pokey Poms and Shy Guys) also roll along the ground.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Wild Ptooie Piranhas are mentioned briefly by Viridi during Palutena's Guidance dialogue for Piranha Plant.
