Yo'ster Isle is a tropical island populated by Yoshis. In Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, it is an optional area and can be easily bypassed by ignoring the Pipe Vault and moving on to Moleville. The island is the home to many Yoshis of various colors. Yoshis find entertainment in the Mushroom Derby, a short race on the island's track. The Yo'ster Isle Yoshis enjoy racing and hold the Derby often. The island is also a famous tourist destination; for many years, people from around the world have traveled to Yo'ster Isle to experience its many features.
Yo'ster Isle is an optional area connected to the mainland by a pipe to the Pipe Vault, though it can be bypassed by moving on to Moleville. The island has a lot of trees and other vegetation. Its shelters feature roofs made of leaves and are held up by wooden poles. The Yoshi character is the only member of his species with the ability to communicate to Mario and translates on behalf of Mario when talking to the other Yoshis. Boshi becomes the self-proclaimed boss of Yo'ster Isle ever since winning the Mushroom Derby, but his reign ends when Mario and Yoshi defeat him in another ace.

Yo'ster Isle is connected to the mainland by a Warp Pipe to Pipe Vault. The island is rich with vegetation and scattered with trees. No true buildings exist, yet small, open shelters made of wooden poles and covered with leafy roofs provide the Yoshis with protection from harsh weather. Most of the Yoshis can't actually speak directly to humans; only Yoshi can communicate with Mario, and acts as translator when talking to the others. Besides Yoshi himself, there are several important Yoshis: Boshi, a blue Yoshi known for his antisocial behavior, and a small, green, Baby Yoshi that hatches and grows during the course of the game, though never leaves the small nest. If Mario feeds him enough cookies, he will eventually be rewarded with a few rare items, including Red Essence.
There is a Yoshi named Baby Fat, who grows in a small nest over the course of the game. If he is fed enough Cookies, Mario is eventually rewarded with a few rare items, including Red Essence.

Boshi was once considered the leader of the island after he won the Mushroom Derby and declared himself boss of the Yoshis. However, with the help of Mario and Yoshi, Boshi was defeated in another Mushroom Derby race and the Yoshis began to live freely again. Although the Yoshis make up the indigenous population, the island is considered a vacation hotspot and Raz and Raini, two Toads from the Mushroom Kingdom, spent their honeymoon there.
In the remake only, a map to Yo’ster Isle appears in Johnny's quarters, hanging above to the door to a warp trampoline, suggesting that it was originally a destination of the Sunken Ship.

In Mario and the Incredible Rescue, Yo'ster Isle once again appears. During the adventure, Mario, Luigi and Toad traveled to Yo'ster Isle looking for the next Mushroom. They end up getting attacked by Lakitu and Spinies, but Yoshi arrives and eats Lakitu's Cloud. As such, Mario can get the Mushroom and escape, allowing his party to advance to Moleville.

*Yoshi's Island, the location, is actually the same as this island. In the Japanese versions, Yoshi's Island is always known as Yoster Island - which is the same name as Yo'Ster Isle in Japanese as well. This is not to be confused with Yoshi's Island, the game.

Yo'ster Isle, alternatively Yoshtar Island,[1] appears in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and its remake. It is considered World 3 in the Shogakukan guide,[2] while it is still considered a part of World 2: Pond to Pipes in the Player's Guide.[3] In the remake, it is in the Yo'ster Isle Region. The island is inhabited by several Yoshis, who often find entertainment in a short track titled the Mushroom Derby. Yo'ster Isle is also a well known tourist destination in Mario's world,[3] and two Mushroom People from Mushroom Kingdom, Raz and Raini, spend their honeymoon there.

There is a Yoshi named Baby Fat, who grows in a small nest over the course of the game. If he is fed enough Cookies, Mario is eventually rewarded with a few rare items, including Red Essence.

In the remake only, a map to Yo’ster Isle appears in Johnny's quarters, hanging above to the door to a warp trampoline, suggesting that it was originally a destination of the Sunken Ship.
