Tadpole Pond is a swampy environment found in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. This is the home of Frogfucius. He rules over the tadpoles that live there. This is also the location of the Frog Coin Emporium. Additonally, it contains Melody Bay, where Toadofsky is waiting for inspiration.
Tadpole Pond was Mallow's home. As Mario and Mallow arrive at Tadpole Pond from the Midas River, they are greeted by Frogfucius. Frogfucius tells Mallow that he was not really his grandfather, but has only found him as a baby and adopted him. He tells Mallow to look for his real parents. He sents Mario and Mallow into the direction of Rose Town.
When Mario and his party return to Tadpole Pond after saving Princess Toadstool, they find Frogfucius sad because of Mallow leaving. After cheering him up with his favourite food, Cricket Pie, Frogfucius says he has heard of a Star Piece falling onto Star Hill. This is the last time Mario and his friends have to visit Tadpole Pond.
Interestingly, when Tadpole Pond is seen in the ending sequence of Super Mario RPG, it looks remarkably different. This may be considered a Beta Element, as many places from Super Mario RPG look different in the opening and ending sequence, which might be related to the fact that they were created during an early development stage of the game.
