A Paper Macho Buzzy Beetle is an enemy in Paper Mario: The Origami King, a type of Paper Macho Soldier. One is fought as the final enemy of Scuffle Island, titled the Dark Destroyer. Defeating it earns the player 20000 coins. Like most of the other Paper Macho enemies on Scuffle Island, the Paper Macho Buzzy Beetle has three stickers guarding it. It attacks by retreating into its shell and bouncing around the arena, similar to the Koopalings and Boom Boom in the mainline games. It is invulnerable in this state; the player should wait for it to get dizzy and reveal its stickers, getting rid of all of them will make it gain a teary flag like the other Paper Macho Soldiers. When in this state, it accelerates faster in its shell and slams into the wall harder. However, it falls over in its shell immediately upon bouncing off the wall. The Paper Macho Buzzy Beetle is then defeated in two hits.

A boss variant of the Paper Macho Buzzy Beetle exists called the Paper Mistake Buzzy Beetle, which is plastered with the cut up faces of Bowser's Minions and Kamek. After being stripped of all its faces, the Paper Mistake Buzzy Beetle attacks like an ordinary Paper Macho Buzzy Beetle.
