The Winter Palace is a Main Quest in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, located on the planet Pristine Peaks. It is the second and final Main Quest of Pristine Peaks. In this Quest, the heroes find the Warden for the planet Captain Orion, who must save Rabbid Rosalina, who is trapped inside the Winter Palace by one of Cursa's Spark Hunters, Midnite. Midnite is fought during this Quest. After the Quest is completed, the heroes obtain a Purified Darkmess Energy Crystal, the Memory for Midnite, and Rabbid Rosalina joins the heroes.
History[edit]
Entering the Winter Palace[edit]
After the heroes get rid of the blizzard by cleansing the first Darkmess Tentacle, they discover that the next Darkmess Tentacle is inside of the Winter Palace. When the heroes reach the entrance, they find a frozen Captain Orion. They free him using Beep-0's Wave Power, and he tells the heroes that "the girl" is trapped inside the Winter Palace. The heroes, along with Captain Orion, then enter inside, unaware that Midnite is watching them.
Inside the Winter Palace[edit]
- “Captain Orion: Great Horn Spoon! I'll be barrel-boiled in jellied goatfish! It's the Ghost of Winter Palace !
Edge: Not a ghost. That's one a' Cursa's Spark Hunters.” - —Captain Orion and Edge, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
When the group enters the Winter Palace, they discover a Darkmess Puddle. The heroes cleanse it, and rescue the Spark Pyrogeddon. They then travel into the ballroom, where two statues must be activated. While the group activates both statues, they encounter Midnite, who taunts the group. Captain Orion declares her as the "Ghost of Winter Palace", only for Edge to correct him, telling that she is not a ghost. After both statues are activated, the heroes solve a constellation puzzle, opening up the way to a staircase to the library. Midnite is encountered again, but this time she destroys knitwork, worrying Captain Orion, who declares it as "the girl's knitwork", and orders the heroes to quickly get up the stairs, entering the library.
Confronting Midnite and saving Rabbid Rosalina[edit]
- “Are these your new friends? Maybe I should warn them. After all, WE used to be friends once. Perhaps we still are?”
- —Midnite, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
When the group reaches the library, they find the Darkmess Tentacle, as well as Midnite. She tells the group that her and Edge used to be friends, causing confusion. She then enters the Darkmess Tentacle, and the heroes also enter. "The girl" is revealed to be Rabbid Rosalina, and Captain Orion runs to her to rescue her, but is captured by Midnite. Angered by this, Rabbid Rosalina fights alongside the heroes to defeat Midnite. After Midnite is defeated, Edge spares her, and then Midnite flies away sadly. Rabbid Rosalina then obtains a Purified Darkmess Energy Crystal for the heroes, and Captain Orion is relieved to see her safe. He then tasks her to join the heroes on their adventure to stop Cursa, to which Rabbid Rosalina reluctantly agrees. Beep-0 also tells her that they are looking for Rosalina, and says that her like likeness is uncanny.
