The Desert Riptides is a Darkmess Puddle battle in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, located on the planet Barrendale Mesa. This battle is part of the Main Quest It's an Ill Wind that Blows.
Not long after arriving at Barrendale Mesa, this Darkmess Puddle blocks the way, and must be cleared out in this battle. This battle introduces a new Wildclaw variant: the Riptide. They are similar to Wildclaws, but they get stronger with each attack they take, until their rage reaches maximum. When they attack, they lose their anger, and they cause the Splash Super Effect with their attacks. The heroes must defeat all of the Riptides to win the battle.
Layout[edit]
The battlefield is of a medium size, with four points of high ground at the north, south, east, and west parts of the battlefield. There are many barrels contain Super Effects around the battlefield: the lower barrels have Gust, while the higher barrels have Shock. All high grounds have ramps that connect to them, but the north and south high grounds also have pipes connecting to them. These pipes are unique; a switch in the center of the battlefield will open them up, but someone must be standing on the switch for the pipes to open. The heroes start in the center of the battlefield. The top left and bottom right locations of the battlefield each have a Jump Panel.
There are 5 Riptides on the battlefield: one of them in the center, while the other four are at the four corners. All of the Riptides start at lower ground. There are 2 Scopers at the north and south high ground points, with one Scoper on each of those 2 high ground points.
Battle[edit]
During the battle, Darkmess portals containing Scopers will appear. After all of the Riptides have been defeated, the battle is won.
