History
Donkey Kong Country series
Donkey Kong Country Returns / 3D
Tiki Goons are introduced in Jungle Hijinxs, a level in the Jungle area, and continue to appear commonly throughout the course of the game. Much like Kritters, Klomps and Kobbles from past Donkey Kong Country games, Tiki Goons simply move from side to side at a slow pace. Some of them turn around when they encounter the edge of a platform, while others continue walking ahead regardless. If the Kongs simply bump into one, they lose one heart from their health meter. However, Tiki Goons can be defeated with a roll, a jump, a barrel, or with Rambi. When fighting a boss (except for Tiki Tong), Tiki Goons will be spectating along with Tiki Tanks and Tiki Torches.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
A concept artwork in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze shows two Tiki Goon carcasses lying at the base of a large rock. The artwork is unlocked in the image gallery after collecting all Puzzle Pieces in Grassland Groove.
Mario Kart series
Tiki Goons make another appearance in Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart 8, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as obstacles in DK Jungle. Their behavior from their previous appearance is displayed yet again, simply roaming across the road in an attempt to hinder the racers. Should a racer crash into a Tiki Goon, they spin out and lose three coins. By beating the Staff Ghost of DK Jungle in Mario Kart 8, the player unlocks a Tiki Goon stamp.
