Gassox, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

Gassox (originally named Mokura; incorrectly called Mokuka in one occasion) is a green gaseous entity that lives in the desert at Land's End and later at Belome Temple, acting as an optional boss. When engaged in battle, Gassox resembles a green cloud with two eyes and a mouth. However, outside of battle, Gassox resembles a small white puff of smoke. When in this form, Gassox wanders around the desert, randomly appearing in different areas and running away from attackers. If an adventurer can chase down Gassox, a battle will begin.

When the battle begins, Gassox will be invisible and assume the name Formless. Since Gassox is invisible, the creature can dodge all regular attacks. However, Formless cannot dodge special attacks. Since Formless has no magic defense and low HP, it can be taken down with the simplest special attacks. Formless can use a variety of magical attacks, including Bolt, Static Electricity, Electroshock, and Solidify. Once a special attack is used against Formless, the cloud creature will assume its true form, the green Gassox. Gassox will retain all of the magic attacks it used during its Formless state. In its gaseous state, Gassox is weak against regular attacks and strong against special attacks. After defeating Gassox, the party will earn 30 Experience Points.

Bowser summons Gassox whenever he uses his Poison Gas attack.
