Mario exploring the Mole Mines

The Mole Mines, originally known as the Coal Mines and also referred to as Moleville Mine,[1] are the extensive cave system in the small mountain at Moleville. In Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and its Nintendo Switch remake, Mario, Mallow, and Geno (and coincidentally Bowser) visit Moleville on their respective journeys. Inside the cave, there is a trolley minigame and Punchinello, the guardian of the third Star Piece.

Mole men work in the mines, extracting coal.
