- “For all his strength, even the mighty Bowser is helpless in the Darkmess dimension without a Spark-powered weapon!”
- —Beep-0, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
Blast Through the Bedrock is a Darkmess Tentacle battle in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, located in Paletteville on Palette Prime. It is part of the Main Quest The Fallen King. The heroes must rescue Bowser from Bedrock, one of Cursa's Spark Hunters. Bowser must be used in the battle, along with three other heroes of the player's choice. Bowser also receives the Bowzooka from Beep-0 and JEANIE. After clearing the battle, Bowser joins the heroes, and a Purified Darkmess Energy Crystal is obtained. The Memory for Bedrock is also acquired after clearing the battle. This battle can be done in any order by the player.
Layout
The battlefield is octagonal, and resembles a wrestling ring. There are four groups of explosive barrels at the four corners, with one of the groups having a gap in front of it. A plus shape connecting the center with the edges is also present. There is high ground at one corner, and Jump Panels throughout the battlefield. Bedrock is directly in the center, surrounded by six Goombas. Two groups of three goombas each are at the left and right of the battlefield. There is a Stooge close to the heroes, along with two Depleters at opposite side of each other. Bowser starts close to Bedrock in the center.
Battle
The heroes must lure and trick Bedrock into destroying the groups explosive barrels, which do massive damage to her, because the heroes' attacks do very weak damage to her. All four explosive barrel groups must be activated to defeat her. When they explode, it causes the ground where they were to collapse, decreasing the amount of ground on the battlefield. Indestructible Darkmess portals containing Goombas, Stooges and Depleters appear during the battle. These portals appear only after a part of the battlefield collapses.
Ending
Bowser obtains a Purified Darkmess Energy Crystal, as he was the leader during the battle, and Bedrock escapes with the help of Daphne. Bowser then states why he is here, and joins the heroes to reclaim his minions.
