A Ribbite from Super Mario RPG (Nintendo Switch) | |
First appearance | Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (1996) |
Latest appearance | Super Mario RPG (Nintendo Switch) (2023) |
Variant of | Frogog |
Ribbites are orange relatives of Frogogs in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and its remake. They appear in Land's End and Bean Valley. In battle, they fight along Beezos. Ribbite's name is a portmanteau of "ribbit," an onomatopoeia of a frog sound, and "bite." Ribbites' thought, coupled with their Japanese name and Monster List entry, indicate they are actually the children of the Frogogs Mario previously encountered.
