Room 8-9 (titled Room 7-9 in the British English version) is the ninth course of Jungle Hijinks in Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis.

The course features four Mini Marios.

Overview[edit]

One Mini Mario begins in the top right corner; to the left of it are four Moving Platforms which follow a circular path. A Circus Kong is in the center of the Moving Platforms' path, and above it are four Bomb Blocks and the exit on top of them. Below the Mini's starting position are two alcoves; each contains a Snifit and two gaps for Bomb Blocks. Two more Mini Marios start in the bottom right corner below the Snifits. A Moving Platform is to the left of these two Minis, above some water; it leads to the fourth Mini Mario on the other end. To the left of this Mini are two more Moving Platforms and some more water. Another Circus Kong is at the bottom left, which can fling the Minis up to a girder above it, and to the right of this girder are two Moving Platforms traveling in a circle. Four rocks are to the right of the Moving Platforms, with two gaps of four Bomb Blocks each nearby; the bottom wall is filled in. Above and to the left of the Moving Platforms are two groups of two rocks, with another Moving Platform on their left. Seven rocks and a Snifit are at the top of this platform's path. To reach the exit, the player should place and remove Bomb Blocks to block the Snifits' bullets as well as bombs to destroy the rocks. They can then guide the Minis onto the platforms so they arrive at the exit.

Mini Mario Card[edit]

The Mini Mario Card is on the top girder above the Snifit. It can be collected by placing a bomb between the four leftmost rocks at the top left. A Mini can then climb up the three remaining rocks to grab the card.

Star scores[edit]

  • A silver star symbol. Used as the cleanest possible way to represent silver stars in Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis, since ripping sprites cleanly from that game is notoriously difficult. Silver star: 15200 points
