Room 8-5 (titled Room 7-5 in the British English version) is the fifth course of Jungle Hijinks in Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis. This level introduces Bomb Blocks and rocks.

The course features four Mini Marios.

Overview[edit]

One Mini Mario begins at the top left of the course; to its immediate right is a row of Bomb Blocks. Below the Bomb Blocks are another Mini Mario and row of Bomb Blocks; however, these ones are covered up by rocks. If the player destroys the rocks by placing a bomb, they can have the Mini fall down to a Bomb Block gap above a pit of Spikes. To the right of the rocks is a vertical Bomb Block gap and a Conveyor Belt; the exit is in the center of the Conveyor Belt. Above the Conveyor Belt is a Moving Platform that transports the Minis to a group of three rocks near the top right. Two more Moving Platforms are to the right of and below the rocks; to the left of the point where the platforms meet is the third Mini Mario, blocked off by rocks on either side of it. The fourth Mini Mario begins in the bottom right corner, to the left of some water; another Moving Platform near the lower one takes the Minis to the bottom left. To reach the exit, the player should remove Bomb Blocks so they can place bombs and explode the rocks. They can then guide the Mini Marios across the Moving Platforms, placing some Bomb Blocks at the end of the Conveyor Belt so the Minis can go into the exit.

Mini Mario Card[edit]

The Mini Mario Card is on some ground directly above the Mini Mario surrounded by rocks. It can be collected by placing a bomb to the right of the five-rock formation, leaving behind a staircase of three rocks. A Mini Mario can then climb up the rocks and into the card.

Star scores[edit]

  • A bronze star symbol. Used as the cleanest possible way to represent bronze stars in Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis, since ripping sprites cleanly from that game is notoriously difficult. Bronze star: 12700 points
  • A silver star symbol. Used as the cleanest possible way to represent silver stars in Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis, since ripping sprites cleanly from that game is notoriously difficult. Silver star: 14700 points
  • A gold star symbol. Used as the cleanest possible way to represent gold stars in Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis, since ripping sprites cleanly from that game is notoriously difficult. Gold star: 36200 points
