Yoshi series
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island / Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3
Yoshi's Island next appeared in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, when Baby Mario fell down to the island after the Stork carrying the Mario brothers was attacked by Kamek. Yoshi found lost Baby Mario, and the Yoshis decide to team up and rescue Baby Luigi who got kidnapped by Kamek and send the Stork on its way to the babies' parents. Yoshi and Baby Mario had to search the entire island and find Baby Luigi, fighting bosses along the way. When Baby Luigi is rescued, the Yoshis bid farewell to the babies as the Stork flies away. The worlds are listed as follows:
- World 1 (grassy area)
- World 2 (mountainous area)
- World 3 (jungle area)
- World 4 (sunset landscape)
- World 5 (icy mountain)
- World 6 (Bowser's kingdom)
Yoshi's Story
In Yoshi's Story, Baby Bowser took over the island in an attempt to capture the Super Happy Tree. Bowser placed a spell over all the Yoshis, but six were unaffected (as well as two more later on), as they were unhatched and still in their eggs at the time the spell was cast. The six Yoshis must battle their way to Baby Bowser while eating fruit and regain their island by defeating Baby Bowser and breaking the spell to get the island back. Eventually, the situation in the island returns back to normal with the Super Happy Tree left unstolen.
Yoshi Topsy-Turvy
Similar to Yoshi's Story, in Yoshi Topsy-Turvy, the island is locked inside a pop-up book, this time known as the Forbidden Pop-Up Book. A spirit, named Hongo, felt threatened by Bowser and tried to lock him away in the book. The book was too powerful and sucked in all of Yoshi's Island, turning everything into paper and cardboard. Yoshi, assisted by the Yoshi Island Spirits has to traverse the Island to reach Bowser. If he can defeat Bowser, Hongo will return the island to its normal state. Yoshi eventually defeats Bowser and the island is back to normal once again.
Yoshi's Island DS
The island reappeared in Yoshi's Island DS, where many babies ended up here. Kamek starts to kidnap babies from all over the world, including Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, and Baby Peach. Luckily, the Stork arrives just in time to rescue Baby Mario and Baby Peach. The Yoshi clan end up finding the babies again, and decide to help Baby Mario rescue his captive brother, and the rest of the kidnapped babies. Yoshi ends up finding two other captured babies, Baby DK and Baby Wario, who decide to help find the babies. Eventually, it is revealed that the culprit of the kidnapped babies was the Kamek from the future, and adult Bowser, who are after the Star Children. Because of an argument, Baby Bowser ends up helping the other babies in their journey. However, once they reach the end of Bowser's Castle, Baby Bowser betrays the Yoshi clan and the other babies, but is soon defeated. Bowser soon battles the Yoshi's because of what they did to his baby self. However, with the aid of the giant Yoshi eggs, Bowser was also defeated. However, he was then bloated up in size, where he proceeds to try to destroy the other Yoshi's. However, with teamwork between all four of the babies, the Yoshi's were able to defeat Bowser, who escaped back to his own time. Baby Luigi was rescued, and peace returned to Yoshi's Island. The worlds are listed as follows:
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
In Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, it goes by the name Yo'ster Isle. It is an optional area and can be easily bypassed by ignoring the Pipe Vault and moving on to Moleville. The island is the home to many Yoshis of various colors. Yoshis find entertainment in the Mushroom Derby, a short race on the island's track. The Yo'ster Isle Yoshis enjoy racing and hold the Derby often. The island is also a famous tourist destination; for many years, people from around the world have traveled to Yo'ster Isle to experience its many features.[3]
Yo'ster Isle is connected to the mainland by a Warp Pipe to Pipe Vault. The island is rich with vegetation and scattered with trees. No true buildings exist, yet small, open shelters made of wooden poles and covered with leafy roofs provide the Yoshis with protection from harsh weather. Most of the Yoshis can't actually speak directly to humans; only Yoshi can communicate with Mario, and acts as translator when talking to the other Yoshis. Besides Yoshi himself, there are several important Yoshis: Boshi, a blue Yoshi known for his antisocial behavior, and a small, green, Baby Yoshi that hatches and grows during the course of the game, though never leaves the small nest. If Mario feeds him enough cookies, he will eventually be rewarded with a few rare items, including Red Essence.
Boshi was once considered the leader of the island after he won the Mushroom Derby and declared himself boss of the Yoshis. However, with the help of Mario and Yoshi, Boshi was defeated in another Mushroom Derby race and the Yoshis began to live freely again. Although the Yoshis make up the indigenous population, the island is considered a vacation hotspot and Raz and Raini, two Toads from the Mushroom Kingdom, spent their honeymoon there. According to the Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars Player's Guide, Yo'ster Isle is a part of World 2: Pond to Pipes. However, on the in-game map screen, the level is accessed as if it belongs to its own world connected to but distinct from World 2.

Mario Golf
Yoshi's Island is also one of the courses in Mario Golf for the Nintendo 64. It can have winds of up to 20 miles per hour and the occasional rain that slows down shots. It is mainly bumpy and has holes in which players need to shoot over the water to avoid an O.B. water hazard penalty. As players approach the latter holes, the day turns to sunset. Constant Donkey Kong voices are part of the ambiance.
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
During the events of Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Yoob and the Shroobs attacked the island. Mario, Luigi, Baby Mario and Baby Luigi saved this island. This game portrays the island with unique enemies such as Pidgits who were only known to exist in Subcon and Coconutters who are a completely new species. There were Yoshi statues around the island, and one of them had a hole where the spring water was coming out. Baby Mario drinks this to become Water Mario, allowing him to spit out water in short spurts.
The music for Yoshi's Island in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time is a remix of the alternate title screen music from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.

Mario and the Incredible Rescue
In Mario and the Incredible Rescue, Yoshi's Island once again appears, again by the name Yo'ster Isle. During the adventure, Mario, Luigi and Toad traveled to Yo'ster Isle looking for the next Mushroom. They end up getting attacked by Lakitu and Spinies, but Yoshi arrives and eats Lakitu's Cloud. As such, Mario can get the Mushroom and escape, allowing his party to advance to Moleville.
Itadaki Street DS
Yoshi's Island is one of the Mario boards that appear in the game Itadaki Street DS. Its board design resembles a stamp, and has the players travel towards the southward larger side of the board from the smaller northward side in one of two equally effective directions. In the Tour Mode of the game, this board is used in Yoshi's and later as one of Mario's stages in that particular order, at two star and five star difficulties respectively. For opponents, the player faces Yoshi, Yangus and Luigi in Yoshi's stage, and Mario, Toad and Kiryl instead in Mario's stage.
Fortune Street
Yoshi's Island reappears as a Mario series board in the sequel to Itadaki Street, Fortune Street. In Easy mode, the board, for the most part, makes the players go one way because of the line shape of the board. In Standard mode, the board looks like three intersecting circles, with a big piece of land in the upper right hand corner. Both boards have a one way Flatbed Ferry to take to the other side of the board. In Tour mode, the player has to play against Toad, Yoshi, and Birdo.
Species
Though Yoshi's Island is known for its Yoshi population, many other kinds of species live on the island as well, such as Shy Guys, Rexes and Piranha Plants.
