History

New Super Mario Bros. 2

In New Super Mario Bros. 2, Ice Balls and Big Ice Balls[2] appear exclusively in World 4-1. They behave identically to normal spiked balls and large spiked balls, respectively, but fit within the snow theme. They can only be destroyed by Gold Mario and Silver Luigi.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

In Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its port, Skowl, the Startling uses similar obstacles during the first phase of his battle, consistently referred to in the game's Prima guide as chunks of ice.[3] While flying above one end of the main platform, Skowl creates spiked chunks of ice and throws them at the other end. Upon landing, they start rolling slowly across the platform. They are indestructible and can damage the Kongs on contact, but can be safely bounced on with Cranky Kong's cane.

Yoshi's Woolly World / Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World

Ice Balls are summoned by Snifberg the Unfeeling in Yoshi's Woolly World and Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World. They roll down towards the Yoshi, damaging him upon contact. They cannot be destroyed.
