A Tatami Block is a large block that appears in World 5 in Yoshi's New Island. Tatami Blocks appear in Ready, Steady, Go! and Punkey the Pokey Prince's Castle. When a Tatami Block is ground-pounded, it causes more blocks to spawn from it, unfolding and going in a certain direction. After a particular amount of time has passed, the platforms despawn, flipping back inside. The block is named after tatami mats, named after their ability to fold.
