Elevator blocks[1] are a type of lift resembling a pair of Donut Lifts found in Super Mario Bros. 3. They are always found in fortress levels, and unlike normal lifts in the game, they are only two blocks wide. The rails they are usually on always drop them at the end rather than rebounding them. In Bowser's Castle, they instead rise from the floor, where they start out invisible.
