The balls are color-coded between their respective characters (Mario uses a red ball, Luigi blue, Yoshi green, Peach pink, etc.) in ''Mario Party 3'', but in later games, they have fixed colors based on player number, with player 1 using a red ball, player 2 using a blue ball, player 3 using a green ball, and player 4 using a ball that is orange in ''Mario Party: The Top 100'' and yellow in ''Mario Party Superstars''.

Bounce 'n' Trounce is a 4-Player minigame found in Mario Party 3, Mario Party: The Top 100, and Mario Party Superstars.

Introduction

During the introduction, the characters are shown spinning on pogo stick-esque balls, using their spin attack on each other and getting sent into the four corners. The balls are color-coded between their respective characters (Mario uses a red ball, Luigi blue, Yoshi green, Peach pink, etc.) in Mario Party 3, but in later games, they have fixed colors based on player number, with player 1 using a red ball, player 2 using a blue ball, player 3 using a green ball, and player 4 using a ball that is orange in Mario Party: The Top 100 and yellow in Mario Party Superstars.

Gameplay

The minigame takes place on a midair 3×3 playing field over a pit in a circus tent. The purple starry background has trees and floating stars in Mario Party 3 and The Top 100 and curtains with starry patterns and glowing lights in Superstars. Players on bouncing balls have to knock other players off the platforms by jumping and spin-attacking. Later in the minigame, the square-boxed platforms fall off one by one. The last player standing wins. In Mario Party 3, if multiple players survive after time runs out, the minigame ends in a draw.

Ending

Players who survived will be shown celebrating. Losers (since they have fallen into the abyss below the arena) do not appear. If everyone falls fell off in Mario Party Superstars, the last player to fall off will be declared the winner.[1]
