End of the Line is a Duel minigame in Mario Party 3. Its name refers to a term used for the end point of a railroad system, which in turn is derived from a phrase used for the cessation of a condition or situation.
Introduction[edit]
Somewhere in a desert, the players are standing on a railroad track and are startled when they turn around and see Steamer coming towards them, whistling. With no time for the players to react, Steamer then runs into them, knocking them onto its tender. The minigame then begins.
Gameplay[edit]
The players must navigate Steamer back to the station. They are given a choice of two tunnels at a set of points to enter. Choosing an incorrect tunnel causes the player to fall off a cliff and return to the start of the course. The first player to choose the correct tunnel at each of three junctions and arrive at the station with Steamer wins. If both players arrive at the station at the same time or if five minutes pass, the minigame will end in a draw.
Ending[edit]
When the winner comes out of the last true tunnel, Steamer brings them to the station, where they strike a victory pose.
Controls[edit]
- – Select left tunnel
- – Select right tunnel
