Lava Drops are small floating fireball-like enemies found in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (and its reissue), Yoshi's New Island, Yoshi's Woolly World, and Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World, seemingly resembling Lava Bubbles from games of the Super Mario franchise. They move either up and down or left and right. The player cannot destroy them with regular attacks, and as a result, they have to be avoided completely. They appear in various cave levels and in groups. They can be defeated by passing through a Checkpoint Ring, by using a Winged Cloud, or by using an Anywhere POW.
Profiles[edit]
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island / Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3[edit]
- Shogakukan guide: おたまも火の玉になると食べられない。よけて通ること。[1](Even Cloud Drop cannot be eaten if it becomes a fireball. Dodge and pass.)
- Player's Guide: Definitely inedible. Like all good dinos, Yoshi knows not to play with Lava Drop.[2]
- Shogakukan guide (Game Boy Advance version): 火の玉状態のおたま。暑いので、とてもじゃないが食べられない。[3](A Cloud Drop in a state of fireball. It's too hot to eat.)
Yoshi's New Island[edit]
- Shogakukan guide: おまと同じように、一定の区間を上下または左右に往復移動する。炎をまとっているために食べたり踏んだりできないので、タマゴをぶつけて倒そう。[4](Like the Cloud Drop, it moves up and down, left and right, and back and forth over a fixed section. Because they are covered in flames, they cannot be eaten or stepped on, so you must hit them with an egg to knock them down.)
