Dream Fencing, a Dream Event from the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Dream Events are events in the Mario & Sonic series that are loosely based on Olympic Events and prominently feature elements from both the Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog series as part of the event. This often includes items being used or enemies and obstacles appearing in the event. The events take place either in existing places from the two series or in new locations created for the games. The events are unlockable in the first two installments (aside from Dream Snowboard Cross or Dream Ski Cross in the Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games) but are available from the start in the third and fourth ones.

Dream Events do not appear in either of the Rio 2016 installments, but are replaced by Duel Events in the Wii U version, and Plus Events in the Nintendo 3DS version. However, they return in the Tokyo 2020 installment.
