Para-Goombas are Galoombas with parachutes that only appear in Super Mario World. They descend slowly from the sky on parachutes, and once they land, they act like normal Galoombas. A kind of Bob-omb known as Para-bombs also appear, which also use parachutes. They are not to be confused with the winged Goombas known as Paragoombas that appear in numerous other games, nor with the two types of winged Galoombas that appear in Mario Clash and Super Mario World, which are also known as Para-Goombas in the former, but known as Winged Goombas in the latter.

Variant of Galoomba

Parachute Galoombas,[1] originally known as Para-Goombas (alternatively Paragoombas),[2] are Galoombas with parachutes that first appear in Super Mario World. They descend slowly from the sky on parachutes, and once they land, they act like normal Galoombas.

Para-Goombas also make a minor appearance in Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, where they are found at the end of the World-e level Rich with Ropes.

Parachute Galoombas make a reappearance in Super Mario Maker 2. They can be made only in the Super Mario World style by placing a parachute on a Galoomba. Their descending animation is changed to resemble the Galoombas' swimming animation from the first Super Mario Maker.
