Green Star Coins[1] are a type of coin introduced in Super Mario 3D World. Collecting all of the ones within an area causes a collectible Green Star to appear, similar to the Red Coins found in other games. They resemble yellow Star Coins, but are smaller.
History[edit]
Super Mario 3D World / Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury[edit]
Green Star Coins occur throughout Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. After a player goes through a Green Star Ring, eight Green Star Coins start to appear separately like Red Coins, though they appear for only a limited time and disappear if they are not all collected in time. If the player character collects them all within the time limit, a Green Star appears on the same spot where the last Green Coin was collected. When a Green Star Coin is collected, a dark-green numbered text appears based on the corresponding number collected. Green Star Coins also make a distinct sparkly sound when collected with an incremented pitch with each one collected. They are worth the same as one regular coin and 100 points.
Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition[edit]
Green Star Coins are Skill Items in Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition. They raise the Skill levels of all forms of Luigi, Spinies, and all types/forms of Bullet Bills, Wigglers, Chain Chomps and Flame Chomps from Level 1-4. To increase their Skill Level from Level 4 onwards, Grand Green Star Coins need to be used. Green Star Coins can be obtained by winning the Lucky ? Blocks or by opening a ? Block in certain levels.
