Ticktock Hop is a Duel minigame found in Mario Party 3 (where it is parsed as Tick Tock Hop) and Mario Party Superstars. The playing field resembles the painting from Super Mario 64 that takes the player to Tick Tock Clock.

Gameplay[edit]

The players stand on the hour hand and have to dodge the minute hand by simply jumping over it as it comes spinning around toward them. As the minigame progresses, the minute hand may be the only hand rotating, the hour hand may be the only one rotating, both hands may be rotating, and they may also reverse direction and change speeds. The last player standing wins. If both players are knocked off by the minute hand at the same time or if they jump over the hand 99 times, the minigame ends in a draw.

Although this is not said in the instructions, players can use Control Stick to angle their characters or run in place. However, they stay in the same place, so there is no functional use for this.

In Mario Party Superstars, an "Endless" mode is available in Free Play; as the name implies, it continues until both players are eliminated, and it saves records. Additionally, due to the 16:9 aspect ratio, one can see that the clock is on the top of a wooden table with some tools and cogs surrounding it.
