A Character Switch[1] is a type of P Switch that first appears in Super Mario 3D World and reappears in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. Each switch has a character emblem on it for Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad, or Rosalina; only the character whose emblem is shown can press the switch. When the switch is pressed, in most cases a stamp will appear, but they can also reveal a Green Star or a line of coins.
Character emblems
- Mario switch: Depicts a red "M" emblem; appears in Really Rolling Hills and Blast Block Skyway.

Trivia
- The only Character Switches that yield something other than stamps are the Toad switch in Sprawling Savanna Rabbit Run (which gives out a Green Star) and the Mario switch in Blast Block Skyway (which activates a line of coins).
- The Character Switches' stamps are always of the respective character's Small form.
- Luigi's switch is the only one not found in a level with an alliterative title.
