History
New Super Mario Bros. 2
In New Super Mario Bros. 2, Icy Spike Balls appear exclusively in World 4-1. Both normal and Giant Spiked Balls appear, and behave identically to normal Spike Balls. They can only be destroyed by Gold Mario and Silver Luigi.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
In Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Skowl, the Startling uses Icy Spike Balls during the first phase of his battle. While flying above one end of the battle arena, Skowl creates Icy Spike Balls and throws them at the other end. Upon landing on the platform, they start rolling slowly in the opposite direction, across the arena. In this game, they are indestructible, but can be safely bounced on with Cranky Kong's cane.
Yoshi's Woolly World
In Yoshi's Woolly World, Icy Spike Balls are summoned by Snifberg the Unfeeling. They roll down towards Yoshi, damaging him upon contact. They cannot be destroyed.
