Block Boos,[1][2][3][4] also named Boo Blocks[1][5] (originally known as Boo Buddy Blocks),[6] are enemies introduced in Super Mario World. They are Boos that can turn into a block called a Ghost Block.[6]
History[edit]
Super Mario series[edit]
Super Mario World[edit]
Boo Buddy Blocks are enemies in Super Mario World. When looked at, they take the form of stone-like blocks, which are usable as platforms, but behave like Boos otherwise, chasing the player character whenever he looks away. A Boo Buddy Block is used to reach the exit of Choco-Ghost House.[7][8]
Super Mario Sunshine[edit]
Pink Boos[9] are enemies in Super Mario Sunshine. Their recolor makes them look like Red Boos. They are found around the central pillar of Hotel Delfino in "The Hotel Lobby's Secret" and near a bathtub in "Mysterious Hotel Delfino." Pink Boos are unaffected when looked at, like Boos, and move similarly but with less range. Pink Boos become Ghost Blocks, which look like Yoshi Platforms with a visible pair of eyes, temporarily by spraying either water from FLUDD or juice from Yoshi at them.
Yoshi's Story[edit]
Boo Blocks are enemies in Yoshi's Story. They look different from Boos, and their Ghost Block form is now depicted with pink and white stripes. They are found only in Ghost Castle.
Super Mario World: Mario to Yoshi no Bōken Land[edit]
This section is a stub. Please consider expanding it to include any missing information. Specifics: At which point of the OVA do they appear? Also specify its role.
In Super Mario World: Mario to Yoshi no Bōken Land, when the Boos turn into Ghost Blocks, they still show their faces, unlike in the original game, where their faces disappear.
