Later Skater is a 4-Player minigame found in Mario Party 5, Mario Party: The Top 100, and Mario Party Superstars. Its name is a pun on the phrase "Later, gator" or "Later, hater."

Gameplay[edit]

Players attempt to complete five laps by skating around the ice rink in a counterclockwise fashion. Players have to be careful not to hit the side or the center of the ice rink or the walls, as they will slow them down. It is not possible to steer the player in a way that would make them go clockwise. The first player who does five laps wins, and a new record may be set by any human player, as long as the time taken is faster than the previous record. If five or three minutes pass in Mario Party 5 or Mario Party Superstars, respectively, the minigame ends in a draw.

In Mario Party 5, this minigame appears as the second-to-last minigame in Mini-Game Decathlon. Here, the players' objective is to finish five laps as fast as possible to earn as many points as possible, up to 1,000. The default record for this minigame in Mini-Game Decathlon is 40 seconds. The minigame ends once all players finish or if one minute 30 seconds pass. It also appears as the third minigame in Mario Party: The Top 100's Half Decathlon.
