Paint Misbehavin' is a 2-vs.-2 and Duel minigame in Mario Party 8 and a 2-vs.-2 minigame in Mario Party Superstars. Its name is a pun on the title of the song "Ain't Misbehavin'."

Introduction

The introduction to Paint Misbehavin' in Mario Party 8

The players are shown standing on a desk with art materials. A group of eleven Goombas on a stack of books comes toward them as they hop into their paintball machines, and the game starts.

Gameplay

Each team or player competes to paint the eleven Goombas roaming around the square stage in their color by shooting paintballs at them. Goombas can be "repainted" if hit by a different-colored paintball. The paintball machines are restricted to opposite sides of the stage, and teammates cannot move past each other. Hitting opponents with paintballs stuns them briefly. The team or player that has more Goombas painted in their color when time runs out wins. A tie can occur only if an even number of Goombas is painted.

In Mario Party Superstars, a "score" sound plays each time a Goomba is hit. Characters also cheer whenever they hit a Goomba.

Ending

  • In Mario Party Superstars, this is the only minigame whose ending can be skipped.
    • Also in Superstars, if a tie occurs in this minigame, the fanfare does not play the infinite loop section of the song, unlike in Winner or Dinner.
