Bob-ombs Away is a 1-vs.-3 minigame in Mario Party 8. Its name is a pun on the phrase "Bombs away!" This minigame is functionally similar to Plinko.

Introduction[edit]

The middle team player on the ledge at the top drops a Bob-omb onto the pegs. The Bob-omb collides with each of the pegs and falls in front of the solo player, exploding and surprising them. The player moves back to their position, and the minigame starts.

Gameplay[edit]

The three players on top of the wall attempt to hit the solo player with Bob-ombs, while the solo player must avoid getting caught in the Bob-ombs' explosions. Because of the pegs on the wall that bump the Bob-ombs in different directions, the team and solo player must analyze it more closely to predict where they will fall. On occasion, if two Bob-ombs are thrown at once and fall down the same gap, they may end up stuck. If the solo player survives for 30 seconds, they win; otherwise, the team players win.

Ending[edit]

If the solo player is blown up, the team players do winning poses; the solo player sits on a moving platform, appearing dizzy. If the solo player survives, the Bob-ombs that the team players are holding explode in their hands, blowing them to the ground and dizzying them as the solo player does a winning pose.
