Relatives

Topminis[1] are enemies in the Super Mario series. They are small, yellow Topmen appearing in Super Mario Galaxy and its sequel only. Their name involves the prefix mini- (referring to them being small) being added to the end of "top" as a suffix, forming a pun on Topman.

Appearance[edit]

Topminis have a yellow body. Their spinner is black with gold bulbs, and the creature has two black ovals for eyes akin to Mushroom Retainers.

History[edit]

Super Mario Galaxy[edit]

Topmini

Topminis are enemies in Super Mario Galaxy. They are encountered in several levels, mostly in the Battlerock Galaxy and the Dreadnought Galaxy. They were typically found in groups of two to three Topminis and they tried to spin into Mario which would simply push him backwards. This move, though incapable of damaging Mario directly, can push him into some sort of hazard that damages him. Topminis can only be defeated from a spin, causing them to explode into one Star Bit, or from a Star Bit being shot at them, in which case they reward three Star Bits instead. In many areas after the Topminis are defeated, a hole appears and more of the enemies emerge from it.

In the Buoy Base Galaxy only, Topminis can be released from the Sentry Garage that attempts to knock Mario into something dangerous. Occasionally, they are released from Spring Topmen as well after they are attacked.
