Rhomps[1] are species related to Thwomps that first (and only) appeared in Super Mario Galaxy 2 as enemies. They are exclusively encountered in the Slipsand Galaxy (Squizzard's Sandy Sinkhole only). 18 Rhomps appear in the sand slide area, where they attempt to flatten Mario or Luigi, causing him to lose a life instantly. Rhomps resemble tube-shaped stones with smiley faces and a circular stone with square designs on it attached to each side. While similar to Spindels in both design and behavior, Rhomps have several differentiating features, such as smooth stone skin and no teeth nor eyebrows. A Rhomp's face is very similar to that of a Grumblump.
