Spiky Tromp
Template:Species-infobox A Spiky Tromp is a rocky enemy from Super Paper Mario. It is a smaller version of the Spiny Tromp.
History
Super Paper Mario
Spiky Tromps were first seen in Chapter 1-4, in the Yold Ruins, where many of them tried to block Mario's path by slowly rolling back and forth, in order to ram the plumber. Although the player can dodge, they are absolutely invincible. There is an exception, however, as Mario can use Thoreau or Barry to cause them to fall into quicksand. In a part of that chapter, they actually help Mario and his Pixls; by activating a switch, Mario triggered a supposedly lethal trap, which consisted in releasing an enormous number of Spiky Tromps so as to crush any intruder. However, the enemies were so numerous that they ended up falling down a pit, filling it up, allowing the gang to walk across them and enter a door which was out of reach before.
Spiky Tromps also appear in the minigame Tilt Island. They fall from the sky onto the island, and they make Mario lose a life when they manage to hit him. However, if Mario grabs a Flower, he will be able to knock them away with a spinning attack, scoring 2000 points in the process.
"New Super Mario Bros. U"
Spiky Tromps roll back and forth upon wall contact and sometimes can be seen coming out of a wooden hole in the wall. They appear with a grin, missing a tooth and eyes with red pupils that roll around. They are completely invulnerable to anything except a Starman.
