Peachette is a form of Toadette, attained by using the Super Crown in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. Peachette is a lookalike of Princess Peach, but with a different outfit based on Toadette's usual appearance. A video on the Play Nintendo YouTube channel even erroneously refers to Peachette as "Princess Peach".[1]

History

New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe

Peachette first appears in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. In this form, Toadette is able to Double Jump in midair, and can also perform Peach's Floating Jump from Super Mario Run. If Toadette performs a Spin Jump in this form, she also jumps much higher than normal. Peachette functions similarly to the Flying Squirrel form, although Toadette in this form cannot cling to walls, the Double Jump does not give Toadette forward momentum compared to the Flying Squirrel Jump, and Toadette falls slower during the Floating Jump compared to the Flying Squirrel form. She also gets boosted out of any pits, lava, or poison that she falls into, though only once. If Peachette tries this twice in a row, she will fall into the hazard and lose a life. If solo Peachette defeats Bowser's first form in The Final Battle, the real Peach, upon seeing Peachette, will act confused and say, "What?"

In New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Peachette's voice occasionally reverts to Toadette's when performing a Triple Jump, causing Peachette to clear her throat.[2]

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Following the version 3.1.0 update released on May 30, 2019 and during the "Super Smash Sisters" event that ran from May 30 to June 4, for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Peachette was first made available in the game as an Ace-class Shield-type primary spirit, though she was accidentally revealed a week earlier on May 21.[3][4] In her spirit battle, the player is required to defeat Peach, Mario, Luigi, and a Mii Brawler dressed as Toad on Mushroom Kingdom U within one minute under the effects of low gravity and a higher launch rate.

Mario Kart series

Mario Kart Tour

Peachette is playable in Mario Kart Tour (marking her debut in the Mario Kart series), as a separate character from Toadette. She is one of three characters that can be played for the tutorial, with the other two being Toad and Toadette; if Peachette is not obtained here, she is available as an unlockable High-End character instead. Her special skill is the Mushroom Cannon. Like most characters, she has her own cup.

Peachette's voice was given a major change in this game. Originally, in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, her voice sounded exactly like Peach; this time, her voice is a unique mixture of both Peach and Toadette. She is the only character in the game that has unique voice clips in Frenzy mode.

Peachette was added to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as a playable character through the sixth and final wave of the Booster Course Pass DLC, alongside Diddy Kong, Funky Kong, and Pauline. Peachette also has a new alternate racing variant of her outfit when using bikes and ATVs, similar to Peach, Daisy, Rosalina, and Pauline. She is a middleweight character, sharing statistics with Peach, Daisy, Yoshi, and Birdo. As Peachette is a form of Toadette, she has the same CPU vehicle parts and rivals, and will not appear as a CPU if the latter is present in the race. Her horn sound is a combination of Toadette’s and Peach’s horn sounds.

Appearance

Peachette bears a striking resemblance to Peach, only with several differences in her attire. Her face features are identical to Peach's, with the differences being gray eyes as opposed to blue, and her hair tied into round pigtails like those of Toadette's; she also wears the same gloves and earrings as Peach, though the latter are red instead of blue. The top part of her dress is similar to Peach's, but it is lighter in color and has a large magenta bow on the front with a faceted golden brooch at the center. The lower portion of her dress, instead, is different from Peach's. It connects to the top of the dress with a magenta waistband, and consists in three frilled layers, the first layer being pink with lighter circle spots, the second layer being light pink, and the third layer being white. She wears white tights and heeled brown shoes with round toes.

In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Peachette wears a new alternate racing variant of her outfit when using bikes and ATVs, similar to Peach, Daisy, Rosalina, and Pauline's racing suits. Instead of it being an actual racing suit, this outfit replaces the skirt of her dress with puffy shorts that have light pink spots and frilled openings, while the top part remains the same. She wears pink racing boots with darker pink stripes on the sides and soles and white edges on the top and near the soles; unlike the princesses or Pauline's, they are thigh-length rather than calf-length, and have high heels and rounded toes.
